PCSO Murphy and PCSO Supervisor Coleman conducted some foot patrols this late morning around Littleover to complete some enquiries and visits. With the heat already 28 degrees and climbing, our heavy kit and very little shade it was going to be a warm one! We visited St Peter's Church to discuss issues that arrive each summer with nuisance young people in the churchyard in the evenings, and issues with vehicles turning up and taking drugs and how we might tackle this and future crime prevention for the area. The Church and grounds are a beautiful and serene area, enjoyed and visited by many, for a number of reasons, and all are welcome; however it is how they may conduct themselves which is the issue; loud behaviour, well into the night, littering, smoking and drinking are not acceptable in such a location. From there we made some enquiries regarding a concern raised by a member of the public that there was some suspicious behaviour by a local resident on the school run. Upon talking to the local resident, it was quickly established that there was a genuine reason for their behaviour and all was in order. We then popped into Mrs C's Tea Cosy, who were celebrating their 3rd anniversary of being in business in Littleover, they had plenty planned to celebrate and wanted to thank and reward local residents for their support. We were very grateful of the ice cold water, which was much needed.A high visibility patrol of Sunnydale Park to deter any ASB, E-scooters or motorbikes, before returning to base for a hydration break. The PCSO's are off to attend 3 school summer fairs in the area this afternoon. Fortunately, there's a few ice lollies waiting for them back at the nick! Many thanks, Sam
